Elmwood Studios has a particular strength in documentary productions and post-production. Elmwood founder and principal Thomas Luehrsen is a graduate of the University of Southern California masters program in visual anthropology. He has produced and collaborated on numerous documentary programs around the world since 1986.



Zengbu After Mao

Thomas Luehrsen produced and directed Zengbu After Mao, a profile of a rural village of peasants in the Peoples Republic of China and the dramatic social and economic changes there since the death of Mao Zedong in 1977. Zengbu After Mao won a Student Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and a Bronze Apple at the National Educational Film Festival.
